The RPD is designed for installation on a vertical surface, both outdoors and indoors. The rated operating mode is continuous.
The use of Relay Protection Devices (RPD) makes it possible to:
- significantly reduce electricity theft in 0.4 kV networks caused by unauthorized connections to overhead line conductors and service drops to buildings;
- eliminate electricity theft through the use of an “artificial neutral”;
- prevent overloading of transformer substations and cable networks, which can lead to malfunctions, especially during cold weather;
- improve the quality of electricity supplied to consumers by equalizing the voltage along the entire length of 0.4 kV overhead lines.
Electricity consumption is controlled by Relay Protection Devices as follows:
- in the event of excessive consumption, the RPD disconnects the consumer. After a specified period, the power supply is automatically restored.
