Four-Transformer Compact Transformer Substations (4TCTS)

Four-Transformer Compact Transformer Substations (FTCTS) are typically used to transform voltage from high-voltage lines (6–10 kV) to low-voltage levels (0.4 kV). These substations are equipped with four transformers, enabling them to meet the power requirements of large industrial facilities, urban areas, and other major electricity consumers. They are characterized by high reliability and efficiency and ensure stable power supply on a large scale.

Specifications

Four-Transformer Compact Transformer Substations (FTCTS) are manufactured in accordance with applicable technical standards and regulatory requirements.

Four-Transformer Compact Transformer Substations (4CTS) are available with ratings from 1,000 to 10,000 kVA for a voltage of 10(6)/0.4 kV.

Four-transformer CTSs are larger than two-transformer substations. Their average dimensions may be as follows:

  • Length: 6–10 m
  • Width: 3–5 m
  • Height: 3–4 m

These substations require more space due to the additional transformers and more complex electrical configuration. The weight of one transformer module is approximately 10 tonnes.

The average service life of each transformer is approximately 40 years with proper maintenance.

The compact substation occupies an area of approximately 20–25 square meters, depending on the configuration.

Each transformer is equipped with systems for detecting and protecting against overloads, short circuits, and other emergency conditions.

Key Characteristics and Features of These Substations:

  • High power rating, enabling them to provide power supply to large industrial facilities and urban areas.
  • Four transformers provide greater reliability and flexibility in the power supply system.
  • Enhanced resistance to external influences, such as weather conditions, ensuring reliable operation over an extended period.
  • Increased fault tolerance: In the event of a transformer failure, the remaining transformers in the FTCTS can compensate for the loss, ensuring a stable power supply with minimal interruption.
